All of the information you provide to Socratic Technologies will remain confidential. LongHorn Insiders values your input, and Socratic Technologies will only share the information you provide with LongHorn Insiders except for the username and password you use to access this website. All feedback is being collected for market research purposes only. No one will ever try to sell you anything as a result of your participation in the LongHorn Insiders.

Privacy Commitment and Philosophy

Socratic Technologies is an international market research firm specializing in online research techniques and online panel development and management. Privacy and confidentiality of your personal information is our priority.

LongHorn Insiders surveys are conducted for market research purposes only. All of our research studies report information in aggregate form (i.e., information about groups, not individuals). No one will ever attempt to sell you anything as a direct result of your participation in one of our surveys. All individual information provided is held strictly confidential.

Collection of Personal Information

To join LongHorn Insiders, we invite you to complete a brief registration survey that gathers some personal information. We ask that you provide your name and email address so that we can send you email invitations to participate in Web surveys. The additional personal information we gather during the survey (which may include your online purchase habits, employment information, household income, gender, etc.) is to assist us in providing you with opportunities to complete surveys that are relevant and interesting to you.

Socratic Technologies may also collect information about your computer hardware and software. This information may include (among other things) your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site addresses. This information is used by Socratic Technologies for the operation of our Web sites and services, to maintain quality of our services, and to provide general statistics regarding use of our Web sites and services.

If you participate in a LongHorn Insiders survey and elect not to join our online panel, the only information we will preserve is your email address for the purposes of contacting you if you are eligible to receive a survey incentive (e.g., you are a prize drawing winner). Unless you opt-in to join LongHorn Insiders, we will not contact you for any reason.

Usage and Sharing of Personal Information

LongHorn Insiders member information is stored in our proprietary database, and used to deliver invitations to Web surveys. If Socratic Technologies believes your profile makes you a potential candidate for a particular study, Socratic may send you an email invitation to make you aware of the survey opportunity. Socratic Technologies may also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of new survey technologies and other LongHorn Insiders services.

Socratic Technologies may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Socratic Technologies, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

Socratic Technologies may also share your personal (but non-identifiable) data with our clients who request this information for use in aggregate analysis. For example, Socratic Technologies may provide a client with data collected from a recent LongHorn Insiders survey, with variables such as age, household income, or gender from the registration survey appended to the file. This is primarily designed to save our panelists time and effort, so they do not need to re-answer these questions on each and every survey. These appended data, however, will never include personally identifiable information such as your full name, mailing address, or email address.

Socratic Technologies will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Socratic Technologies; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Socratic Technologies; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Socratic Technologies, its Web sites and services, or the public.

COPPA
We are committed to protecting your child's privacy online and our practices are in full compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), as regulated by the FTC. This means that Socratic Technologies does not conduct research with minors under the age of 13 without a statement of permission from the parents or guardians. Usage of Cookies

A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server.  Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide you a convenience feature that will save you time.  For example, if you register with LongHorn Insiders, a cookie could be used to help the site recall your specific information and/or preferences on subsequent visits.  Then, when you access the site in the future, the information previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the LongHorn Insiders features you customized on your previous visit. While some LongHorn Insiders Web site features require use of cookies, you always have the option to disable cookies while registering or completing a survey without affecting your participation.

Member Services and Opt-Out Policy

LongHorn Insiders provides you with a 'Member Services' area of our Web site, where you may correct or update your membership information, or 'opt-out' (i.e., remove) yourself from the panel. Instructions on how to unsubscribe from LongHorn Insiders are also available at the bottom of each email invitation sent to panel members. If you are a panel member and delete your membership, your active membership status and profile information will be removed from our database. Please note that in some cases it may take two to three business days for your information to be completely removed from our records.

Security of Personal Information

LongHorn Insiders takes strict measures to ensure every aspect of your information is kept secure, protecting your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment. Access to all personal information is restricted and limited to a few key personnel. Socratic Technologies will never ask you for private information such as your credit card number as part of our research. Your profile information is highly confidential and will be used only by LongHorn Insiders to email you information about our studies, winner notifications, and other information relevant to your panel membership.

Other Pertinent Information

Notification of Changes
If there are ever any material changes in our privacy policy practices, you will be notified directly. We will take all possible measures to obtain your consent if the information we collect from you is going to be used in a different manner than stated at the time of registration. Any changes in our privacy statement will be posted 30 days prior to that change.

Business Transfers
As we continue to develop our business, we might sell or buy additional assets. In such transactions, Socratic Technologies right to contact its panel members and the information you have voluntarily provided in your user profile would generally be considered one of the transferred business assets. Any sale or transfer of Socratic Technologies or substantially all of its business assets, which included our panel, would be to an entity that agreed to comply with all of the material terms of our privacy policy.
